We received 3 entries, which is good news for the entrants, because there are exactly 3 prize levels. Here are the pictures of the pumpkins. We're posting them here so you can see several angles of each pumpkin, however we'll only post one picture of each pumpkin on Facebook for voting purposes. So once you've looked at these, head over to our Empire's Comics Vault Facebook page to vote!

Where do we go from here...?

This last weekend was Sac-Con and this coming weekend is 24 Hour Comic Day! That means we are right in the middle of a very creative time for local comic writers and artists!  This is a much needed boost for me since 2011 has been the hardest year to date for the shop. Because of this ECV Press got pushed to the wayside. What does that mean exactly? It means I had to forgo all conventions this year and I have not devoted ANY time to my love of writing and publishing comics. That is changing as of now.

The store is back on it's feet after the fire and the move and as things stabilize in my life I realize just how much working on ECV Press projects means to me. It doesn't matter if it is simply writing a story or editing one of our writer. It could be formatting pages for the web or replying to emails. Just moving things along for The Continuum Universe is like a sedative. So fast forwarding past all the sappy stuff...

Here is what you can look forward to!

1) The printing of R&E #4

2) The printing of The Continuum Universe #4

3) The printing of The Hunters #3

4) Webcomics have started for a 44 part Relic & Ego story taking place between issues 2 and 3. These are in a newspaper strip style and will be available every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The first 3 are up now and Monday 10-3-11 will feature part 4.

5) Speaking of webcomics there are 98 available now! 44 pages of Spades action, 47 pages of Strangelight (this is all prequel story taking place before their debut in The Continuum Universe #2), 6 pages of Invisible War and 1 Holiday Special!

6) There are 86 completed webcomics featuring all of our characters, and some that have not yet appeared in our books, waiting to be posted!

7) Myself and the other ECV Press writers are putting together comprehensive Bios for all our characters. History, powers, stats and teasers to be included.

8) The website will probably be getting an overhaul soon to make it streamlined and much easier to navigate.

Thank you all for your support, encouragement, critiques, interest and time. It is much appreciated by myself and the other members of ECV Press.

Have a great weekend and keep your eyes peeled for all we have in store!

ECV's 1st shippment to Denmark!

We shipped off our 1st package to Denmark yesterday. Thank you, Michael Pilgaard, for the support. We met at the last SDCC and when we were not there this year he ordered the remaining books he was missing.  Look for more ECV Press titles soon.  I know I have been saying that but I just met with one of my writers and have a sit down with all 3 at the beginning of next month. Thank you all for your patience and support in this long but rewarding endeavor.

Triad Pin-Up by Mark MachMann

Triad's Alexandra by Mark MachMann
As I sit down to do a little writing today I thought it would be a great time to show you a pin-up done by a Sacramento local Mark MachMann. Mark is an Empire's Comics Vault 24 Hour Comic Day regular and last year he did a couple ECV Press pin-ups during the grueling endeavor. You may have seen this piece before since Mark was good enough to make a "we are moving" poster for Empire's Comics Vault with this pin-up.  Thanks, Mark! make sure you check out his artwork and upcoming projects at...

ECV Press wheels turning again!

Hi, all. It has been a while since I had the time or energy to devote any effort to the ECV Press machine but that is quickly changing. I will not bore you with the long and excuse ridden details of the last five months and only say that we are getting back on track. Look for many more updates on this blog, Facebook, deviantart and our website as well as webcomics galore over the next few months. The best part of our renewed vigor is that Relic & Ego #4 will be going to print soon and The Continuum Universe #4 will be following that shortly. Thank you all for your time, interest and support. We could not do it without you.

I was a little premature with the Daily Webcomics delay being over...

I thought the Daily Webcomic delay was over but I apologize...the Empire's Comics Vault store move has been more than I thought it would be. If you have not seen the new place you should stop by and take a look. It is amazing! Plus, we have a Tiki Bar!

As for the webcomic...we are 10 pages into the Spades strip and starting next Monday I am back on the ball. See you all then!

Delay in Daily Webcomics is over!

Final Atomwaffe by Erik Senopati
Well, we have had a slight delay in the webcomics but are back on schedule. We only missed a week but with good reason. There was a fire in the store next to Empire's Comics Vault and I have had a crazy long week of trying to get cleaned up and find a new location for the store.  We are nearly done with all of that so I finally have a moment to enjoy some ECV Press time.  Thank you to everyone who has given me their support through emails, phone calls, facebook, coming by the store, continuing to purchase from Empire's and helping me with the clean up and moving!  Whew!

On the bright side we have just posted the latest installment of the Spades Daily Webcomic (Pt6) and will continue to do so till all 44 are up!  Head on over to and follow our favorite Super Villain team as they hire themselves out to a General in the middle of a coup.  Last time I showed you the initial design for Atomwaffe.  Writer Jesse Jones knew we needed something more so here is our time traveling genetically engineered Super Nazi Gorilla!  'Nuff Said!

Atomwaffe by Erik Senopati
I will keep this nice and simple! The Spades Daily Webcomic has been posted. You can visit our website, click on the webcomics banner (or button) and then go to Spades.  Here is the initial design for one of the villains (if you don't think of Spades as the villains that they are).  Enjoy!
